Graduate Studies in Geology
Ed Spooner, Graduate Chair
Join us in our scientific exploration of the Earth and other planetary bodies. Graduate research takes our students into natural laboratories around the globe; from deciphering past climates with Pacific seafloor sediments, to considering origins of life from deep African mines, to tracing ore deposits through the high Andes. Field studies are complemented by research in the cutting-edge analytical and computational facilities within the department. While we are a relatively small graduate unit, we are particularly active-both academically and socially. Graduate studies in Geology is an opportunity to get a fully funded degree in interesting and adventurous research leading to an academic career or a variety of employment options.
